OUTFIT #1:
Let’s start with a luxurious tan ground sport coat with a subtle chocolate and light blue check. Jackets with two or more colors really expand your options! The blue/chocolate/tan combinations in our jacket provide us with all we need to create multiple looks from one jacket!
Here, I’ve chosen a light-weight khaki linen/wool pant from the Vitale Barberis Collection. A cream twill performance shirt will not wilt even on the stickiest of days and our hand-made taupe patterned tie finishes off this terrific Spring/Summer Look! The khaki trouser is a great addition to any wardrobe, providing a neutral base to any outfit/shirt.
Note some of our custom detailing…including our tan premium button, brown button holes, and our blue patterned lining. We suggest pic-stitching the lining with a complementary light tan thread.
Style Leader Tips:
- The Barberis linen/wool collection is terrific for a light-weight summer look of linen…without the wrinkles! Many Americans like linen…but just can’t get used to the way it wrinkles…especially when worn with a dress outfit. This fabric is your answer!
- Style in flat front or pleated front…your choice with custom!
- Our performance shirt is unlike many you will find in retail stores. Most “performance” shirt fabrics are treated after weaving, creating a shirt whose pores have been closed! While the treating chemical lasts, your shirt will resist wrinkles…(and won’t breath)…but once the chemical wears off…wrinkles will be the norm. Our performance shirts are 2×2 ply fabrics woven with one strand of microfiber. These mostly-cotton shirts breath, and are my better customers’ favorite travel shirt! These are the only shirt I wear when traveling into NYC for my appointments. It takes me 2 1/2 hours either by train of car to get into NYC…and my performance shirts look great all day long!
OUTFIT #2:
Same jacket…this time with a super 100 all-season chocolate gabardine pant. A light blue performance shirt with one of our hand-made taupe plaid ties offers a decidedly different look to our versatile sport coat.
Same jacket…this time, a pair of ocean linen/wool trousers set our versatile jacket up for one of our newest performance shirts…a blue check to be worn open-collared. This is a great spring/summer pant and will certainly become one of your favorites. Looks great under a blue blazer!
With a little creativity and guidance from your custom tailor, you should be able to add one or two outstanding sport coats this season…but get dozens of outfits simply by combining with existing shirts and pants or by adding one or two pants/shirts with colors specific to your new jacket. You will be surprised at how often these new items will add new options to your existing wardrobe too!

So I’m a college student and have a club dinner at a nice restaurant tomorrow night and I have to dress accordingly. I’m planning on wearing a nice pair of khaki pants, a pink button down shirt, navy blue sport coat and brown shoes. Is that ok to wear in the wintertime or should that be more of like an Easter/Spring thing? Help me out and thanks!
Your planned outfit should be fine. If you are going without a tie, consider a fun pocket square with pink in it. You should be able to find one inexpensively at one of the department stores near you or J.Crew. Good luck and keep Stylin!
