Everyone is wearing sport coats. What type should you get first?

By January 2, 2015No Comments

This question is asked repeatedly by all customers!

The choices are all over the board also!

Without question, the most popular “sport coat” with which one should start their wardrobe is a navy or black blazer.  Some guys like black…some prefer navy.

The traditional navy serge or gabardine blazer is probably the one you’ll find most often in big box stores.  These usually come with gold-toned buttons…but many feel this traditional blazer makes them look like Thurston Howell, III from Gilligan’s Island!

OK…so some like the chest crest, gold buttons, skipper’s cap…but…if you prefer an updated all-purpose blazer, check out this textured navy blazer full of neat detailing.  Instead of gold-toned imagebuttons, gray marbled bone buttons were chosen.  At the sleeve heads, a red grosgrain was used to trim out the functioning buttonholes.  The lining chosen was a cream/blue check.  Note the red pic stitching on the inside of the jacket.

Although not shown, a red felt under collar was added to finish out the red trim detailing.

To complete this outfit, why not a pair of Lloyd suede bluchers.  These shoes go equally as well with your favorite jeans…and your textured navy blazer!  Try this with a great super-fine merino custom turtle neck!
