Which Shoe is Dressier?

By February 17, 2015No Comments

OK…here is a simple question. Two shoes…each are black…which is considered dressier?

This is called a plain toe blucher or oxford.  It happens to be a benchmade shoe from Germany…simple, elegant, comfortable.

Black Basato

This is called a black plain toe oxford.

OK…so which is dressier and why?

The second shoe is actually the dressier shoe…the “oxford” also known as “balmoral” has closed lacing.  This is considered dressier…but it’s not because it is slimmer.

Notice the the first shoe, or “blucher”  has open lacing where the flaps are stitched directly to the shoes.  Most men don’t have any issues wearing the “blucher” with suits…but if given the choice, the above shoe wins hands-down in a formal contest!

If your custom clothier does not have either of these shoes and you are interested, just contact me and I’ll assist.  #shoes #fashion #thestyleleader #customclothing
